Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State has pledged reward of N150 million to players and officials of the Rangers International FC for winning the 2025/26 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
The governor announced this on Tuesday during Rangers trophy parade and reception at ?kpara square, Independence Layout, Enugu.
According to Mbah, the players are to share ?100 million, while ?50 million, will be shared by the management of the club.
Also, the governor gifted the players and management crew landed property in a yet to be disclosed location in Enugu.
Mbah assured players, officials and sports lovers in the state that he would do everything possible to ensure that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium would be ready for Rangers CAF champions league matches.
“I assure sports lovers in Enugu State that we will do everything possible to ensure that Rangers play all their CAF Champions League matches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, ” Mbah said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the flying antelopes won the 2026 NPFL title after defeating Ikorodu City 2-1 in an epic match at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, in Lagos.
Rangers finished the league with 68 points ahead of Rivers United FC, who finished 67 points.
The two teams will represent Nigeria in the 2026/27 Confederation of African Football (CAF), champions league.
The title was Rangers’ 9th Nigerian premier league titles and their 2nd in three years. (NAN)
