The Lagos State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) is hosting its 2026 three-day capacity training programme aimed at equipping actors and entertainment practitioners with modern skills and industry knowledge.
The training programme, themed “Redefining and Refueling Your Acting Skills,” kicked off on Monday, May 25, and ends on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Venue is Ojez Sports Lounge, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Communications of AGN Lagos State Chapter, Amb. Cornell Udofia, the initiative forms part of the Guild’s efforts to strengthen professionalism, talent development and career advancement within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The organisers said the programme is designed to expose actors, filmmakers and creative practitioners to practical skills and professional insights needed to remain competitive in an evolving global entertainment landscape.
“The training programme is designed to equip actors, filmmakers and entertainment practitioners with modern industry knowledge, practical skills and professional insights needed to thrive in today’s evolving creative industry,” the statement said.
The Guild explained that participants would benefit from practical sessions, networking opportunities and interactive engagements with experienced industry professionals and stakeholders.
According to the statement, the training would focus on performance enhancement, professionalism, career growth, personal branding and ethics within the entertainment space.
“The programme is not just another industry gathering, but a strategic investment in the future of practitioners and the growth of the entertainment sector in Nigeria,” the leadership of AGN Lagos State Chapter stated.
The Guild also called on corporate organisations, institutions, brands and well-meaning individuals to partner with the initiative through sponsorship and collaboration, noting that such support would contribute to youth empowerment and the growth of Nigeria’s creative economy.
AGN Lagos noted that the programme had already attracted support from notable organisations and media platforms, underscoring the increasing recognition of professional development in the entertainment industry.
“The Actors Guild of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, remains committed to raising the standards of professionalism, creativity and excellence in Nollywood and beyond,” the statement added.
Organisers also announced that the dress code for the event would be “Glam & Formal as a STAR.”
For sponsorship, partnership and support enquiries, interested organisations and individuals were advised to contact the Guild through its designated communication channels.
