The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has paid the school fees of five primary school pupils in Anambra State, following a pledge he made during the Police Day celebration.
The gesture was in appreciation of the outstanding performances of the pupils at the primary school level in their respective classes.
CP Orutugu had, during the last Police Day celebration in Anambra State, promised to offset the school fees of five outstanding primary school pupils.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga said in a statement on Wednesday that: “The gesture is aimed at encouraging excellence, supporting education, and promoting nation-building in Anambra State”
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD, noted that the Police remains committed not only to maintaining law and order, but also to supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of Ndi Anambra, especially the younger generation.”
“The Command therefore reassures residents of its resolve to continue to combine effective policing with people-oriented programmes that foster trust, compassion, and community development” the statement said. (TRIBUNE)
