The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday confirmed the killing of Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, the Second-in-Command of ISIS.
Spokesperson of the ministry, Kimiebi Ebienfa, disclosed this in a statement, adding that Al-Minuk was killed in a joint operation by the Nigerian Military and the United States Africa Command.
He stated that the operation was carried out in the Lake Chad Area.
Ebienfa said “the operation was carried out a few hours ago after meticulous planning and successful execution by the Armed Forces of the two countries.
“Al-Minuki was responsible for some of the recent attacks on military formations in the North East.”
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to keeping Nigeria safe, while commending the U.S. for partnership and support in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria. (NAN)
