The All Progressives Grand Alliance has cleared a total of 155 aspirants to contest its forthcoming primaries for the 2027 general elections.
The party cleared 48 aspirants for the Senate and House of Representatives tickets, while 107 others were approved for the Anambra State House of Assembly primary.
A notice of successful aspirants issued on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, said the decision followed the conclusion of its screening exercise.
According to the notice, eight aspirants were cleared for the Senate while 40 were cleared for the House of Representatives.
The notice read, “The All Progressives Grand Alliance, hereby publishes the list of successfully screened aspirants for the 2026 Primary Elections in Anambra State.
“All successful aspirants whose names appear on the list are directed to proceed to the Party’s Regional Office in Awka on Monday, May 18, 2026, to collect their nomination forms.
“Please note that the sale of nomination forms shall close on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Aspirants are advised to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe.
“The National Working Committee congratulates all successful aspirants on this milestone. We wish you the very best as you proceed to the Primary Elections.”
The Senate and House of Representatives primaries are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Among the cleared aspirants are former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, who is seeking the party’s ticket for Anambra North Senatorial District, and a former aide to the governor, Primus Odili, also vying for the same seat. (The PUNCH)
