Barcelona teenage star Lamine Yamal has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to prioritise the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen ahead of next season.
According to Fichajes, the winger views the Galatasaray forward as the “missing piece” in Barcelona’s attacking setup, capable of leading the line and complementing the team’s creative wide players.
Yamal is said to believe Osimhen’s presence would ease defensive pressure and create more space in attacking areas, enhancing the effectiveness of Barcelona’s forward play.
The Catalan club is exploring a potential move for the in-form striker, although his valuation, reportedly exceeding €100 million, remains a significant hurdle.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray for €75 million at the start of the season, has continued to draw strong interest across Europe, with his performances further driving up his market value.
Renowned for his physicality, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing, Osimhen is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most decisive forwards. His ability to stretch defences and convert chances consistently is seen as a major asset for a Barcelona side aiming to compete for top honours.
Yamal believes the Nigerian striker’s profile would add a new dimension to the team’s attack, particularly in breaking down compact defensive setups.
Osimhen’s performances this season have further underlined his appeal, with the striker contributing 26 goals across domestic and European competitions, reinforcing his status as one of the most sought-after forwards in the transfer market. (BBusiness Day)
