Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on Saturday, criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing it of worsening insecurity, poverty, and hunger across the country.

Tambuwal made the remarks while addressing delegates at the state congress of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto.

“I believe Nigerians have seen for themselves what Bola Ahmed Tinubu can deliver, if at all anything has been delivered,” he said. “This administration has only brought more insecurity, poverty, and hunger.”

The senator also alleged mismanagement and diversion of public resources, warning that such funds could be deployed to influence voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the deteriorating economic situation has fueled unemployment and deepened hardship, which he said falls short of Nigerians’ expectations of leadership.

Tambuwal further took a swipe at the Sokoto State Government, accusing it of failing to meet the expectations of the people, though he did not provide specific details.

He, however, urged ADC members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts across the state.

“As you can see, by the grace of God, we will continue to mobilise for increased membership in unity and cohesion,” he said.

Encouraging supporters to stay resolute, Tambuwal declared: “We are standing firm — no shaking, no surrender, no retreat,” while cautioning against any attempt to stifle opposition voices.

He added that the party would continue to strengthen its structures from the grassroots as it prepares for future elections.

Meanwhile, Abdullahi Maigwandu, Bello Isiyaku Keagan, and Kabiru S. Fulani have emerged as chairman, deputy chairman, and secretary of the ADC in the state, respectively.

Other members of the state executive include Kabiru Hali (Vice Chairman, Central), Abdullahi Bafarawa (Sokoto East), and Sadiq Sayyina (Sokoto South), among others. (Weekend Trust)
