Former presidential candidate, Dele Momodu
Former presidential candidate and African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader Dele Momodu has warned the party not to underestimate the challenge of unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Momodu, speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, stated that the task ahead required careful planning and strategy, emphasising the importance of time for the party.
He further stated that no individual owns the ADC, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
According to him, the party’s presidential candidate would emerge from internal processes.
“On the issue of ADC, I believe no one in our party, including Atiku, Obi, or others, can claim to own the party,” he said.
“ADC will determine who gets the ticket. In terms of strategy, it won’t be at the dictate of one man or woman.”
Momodu further advised the party to remain focused and organised in its preparations ahead of the election.
“My advice to ADC is that time is not on our side. I have attempted to contest twice, and I understand that the process requires serious effort and planning,” he added.
