The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has sworn-in the first set of 14 key political appointees two days after new appointments were and few others retained.
The appointees include, Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Principle Secretary to the governor, Barrister Joachim Anetoh, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime and Chief of Staff, Dr Ben Nwankwo.
Other were, Mrs. Ngozi Iwouno for Head of Service, Prof Frank -Collins Okafor, Chief of Protocol, Izuchukwu Okafor, Commissioner for Finance, Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN) Attorney-General of the State, Dr. Vincent Okechi, Deputy Chief of Staff and Ms. Ngozi Okoye Deputy State Chief of Protocol. Also sworn-in were, the Special Adviser, Community Security, Mr Ken Emeakayi, Special Adviser, Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Dr Godwin Nnadozie; Special Adviser, Innovation and Business Incubation & CEO, Solution Innovation District, and Ms. Chinwe Okoli; Special Adviser, Special Projects and Director, Project Evaluation and Monitoring, Prof. Ebuka Nwankwo.
Speaking at the event which took place at the EXCO Chamber of the Light House in Awka on Wednesday, Soludo congratulated the appointees and reminded of them of the need to be dedicated in their duties to ensure that they contribute meaningfully to the success of his solution agenda.
He described their appointment as a call to serve the good people of Anambra State, saying, “I didn’t appoint you to come and chop but to served the people with dignity. This job is a 24/7 assignment. You are now part of the term Solution 2.0 of my administration.
“You are appointed to add value to the growth and development of the State.
“Let’s work as a team to actualise this administration’s vision of making Anambra a destination hub of Nigeria.”
He called on Ndi Anambra to pray for the new appointees to succeed in their various capabilities.
While giving assurance that his second term would witness massive improvement in the provision of infrastructure, entrepreneurial development, education and quality healthcare delivery services across the 179 communities that constitute the state urged the appointees to get to work and not celebration.
Speaking with journalists after the swearing-in, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime thanked the Governor finding him worthy to continue in his service to the state government.
“There is no hide and seek in this government. We are here to work and make Anambra State a destination point like Mr Governor always say. I thank him for the honour to serve in the Solution 2.0.”
