A mother of four, Kafayat Yusuf, has dragged her husband, Abdulwahab, before a Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kadun, Kaduna State, for abandoning her and their children for nine months.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Kafayat told the court that Abdulwahab abandoned her for nine months without bothering about her welfare and that of their children.

“It has been nine months since my husband left home without making any arrangement on how our children and I would fare,

“I have consistently borne the responsibility of our children’s feeding and education.

“I also pay the rent on monthly basis.

“His family has not shown any concern nor gave us their support.

“I am tired of our marriage; I want the court to dissolve the union,” she stated.

The defendant was not in court.

His counsel, Abdulbasit Sulaiman, stated that he could not reach him on the telephone.

He prayed the court to give him more time to try and reach him.

The judge, Malam Rilwanu Kyaudai, adjourned the case. (TRIBUNE)
