Bauchi State Police PRO, SP Nafiu Habib
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four siblings in connection with the alleged killing of a security guard at a farm in Jama’are Local Government Area of the state.
The Incident was said to have occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 15, 2026, when hunters reported an attack on three private guards at a farm belonging to Idris Waziri Kwamawa.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Jama’are reportedly led a patrol team to the scene, where one of the guards, Bello Bura, 40, was found dead, while two others, Sani Hussaini and Gidado Mohammed, both aged 32 and from Jadauvi village in Gamawa LGA, sustained injuries.
The victims were rushed to the General Hospital, where a doctor confirmed Bura dead. His remains have since been released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
Spokesman of the Command, SP Nafiu Habib, in a statement issued on Thursday said six suspects were initially arrested in connection with the incident, adding that four of them, identified as Chidawa Ahmadu, 25; Adamu Ahmadu, 20; Usman Ahmadu, 15; and Yusuf Ahmadu, 22, all from Bediri village via Jumbori in Jama’are LGA, are currently in custody for alleged culpable homicide.
Items recovered from the suspects include three cutlasses, two sticks, and a torchlight.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the command’s control room.
The police said investigation into the incident is ongoing. (The Nation, excluding headline)
