By PAMELA EBOH
Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim, have taken the oath of allegiance and of office for his second term in office.
The event is being held at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka in the presence of notable names like former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice President, Kashim Shettima, former President, Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Anambra State Governor, Dr Chris Ngige, among others.
Soludo arrived the venue in grand style at exactly 11:18am in the company of the top dignitaries earlier mentioned, wife and children.
Soludo took the oath of allegiance at exactly 11:50 a.m. and proceeded to the oath of office, which took about five minutes.
He was accompanied by his wife, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo, who stood beside her husband as he took both oaths with his children behind.
He then later proceeded to sign the oaths in the presence of the Chief Judge of the state at 11:55 a.m. amidst applause, followed simultaneously by his deputy, Ibezim.
The event marks the beginning of another four year tenure that would terminate in 2030.
Soludo had on Sunday promised that his second term in office will witness greater achievements, urging Anambra people to join in making Anambra a better state.
