An Anambra philanthropist and politician, Engr. Eric Nnamdi Anyamene, has praised mothers for the indispensable, supportive, and noble roles they play in ensuring the progress, stability, and unity of their families.
Anyamene made the comment at St. James Anglican Church, Awada-Obosi, when worshippers at the church honoured Ezinne Lady Hannah for the exemplary and leadership roles she played in the church. He was represented at the event by Chinedu Kelly Okenwa.
“Mothers are kind-hearted people, who play indispensable, supportive, and noble roles in their respective families.
“Those roles they play guarantee the progress, peace, and unity in their homes.
“That is why we should celebrate them and demonstrate our love for them on Mothering Sunday,” Anyamene said.
Again, Anyamene donated a princely sum of money to support the ongoing building projects, which are being executed by the church.
Before then, a staunch member of the St. James Anglican church, Awada-Obosi, Sir Dan Chukwudozie, had expressed his joy and satisfaction regarding the school, which was built for the remembrance of his mother.
He lavishly praised his mother for giving him and his siblings good parental upbringing rooted in Christian teachings, which shaped their personalities and helped them to become high flyers in our society.
He urged mothers In the church to live Christ-like life and toe the same line as his mother toed.
“I am here to honour the memory of my mother for giving me good parental upbringing.
“She worked very hard to raise us up in Christian ways, and sponsored our education.
“And I’d like you to know that my mother was a liberal and generous soul, who gave of her time, manifold talents, and financial resources to help needy people.
“That’s why I feel humbled and elated by this Sunday’s service, which coincided with Mothering Sunday,” Chukwudozie said.
And he donated a huge sum of money as a financial pool from which money should be withdrawn to help the under-privileged people in the church.
More so, in-between the events that took place in the church, the female drama group staged a play that spiced up the Mothering Sunday service and underscored the essence of marking Mothering Sunday.
