Nigerian cadets at the NDA
The Nigerian Army has announced that successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission 29/2026 are to report for officer cadet training at the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry on Friday, 27 March 2026.
In a statement on Thursday, the Army said the full list of successful candidates is available online at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
The statement provides detailed instructions for reporting cadets, including items to bring for training.
The Army instructed candidates to report with “writing materials; original credentials including online printout showing his/her passport photograph(s); three pairs of plain white short sleeve round neck vests and royal-blue shorts; two pairs of pure white canvas trainers; two pairs each of maroon-red vests and navy-blue track suits; two white and a blue long sleeve shirts, a black tie and black belt; four pairs of white and two pairs of black socks; two pairs of black and white trousers; one dark-coloured lounge suit; two pairs of national dress or suit and casual wears; one rubber strapped wristwatch; one pair of black cover shoes; swimming trunk; two white bed sheets and pillow cases; one blanket (grey or army green colour); football boots; and a pressing iron.”
Female candidates were further instructed to bring “one pair of black low heel cover shoes; four dark-coloured lounge skirts; four pairs of black or blue shorts; and two pairs of trouser suits.”
Serving military personnel who have been selected are required to present release letters and passes from their commanders or commanding officers.
The Army warned that “successful candidates who fail to report on the aforementioned date will forfeit their vacancies to candidates on reserve.”
Reserve candidates were instructed not to report to NASI but may be contacted if vacancies arise. The statement noted that “there will be no vacancy for reserve candidates after 20 April 2026.” (The PUNCH)
