The Lagos State Government has officially released the 2026 Land Use Charge (LUC) bills, reaffirming its commitment to deliver critical infrastructure and essential public services across the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Tajudeen Mahmud, said this in a statement on Wednesday, urging property owners to take advantage of a 15 per cent early payment discount to settle their bills.
The statement was made available to newsmen by Mr Adeleke Quadri, Director of Public Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
Mahmud stressed the importance of voluntary compliance, noting that enforcement actions against 2025 defaulters will begin soon.
“The Land Use Charge remains a key revenue source that funds the development, maintenance, and upgrade of public infrastructure, including roads, healthcare facilities, schools and security systems,” he said.
He highlighted that taxpayers’ contributions have already helped deliver transformative projects that are easing urban mobility and reducing travel time across Lagos.
“LUC is not just a statutory obligation; it is a civic responsibility that directly supports the growth and development of our state.
“Every payment made contributes to better roads, improved healthcare, quality education, enhanced security, and a cleaner environment.
“We urge all property owners to fulfill their obligations promptly and support the government’s vision for a greater Lagos,” he said.
Mahmud further reiterated that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu remains committed to building a safe, resilient, and globally competitive megacity.
“Through deliberate policy implementation and sustained investment in infrastructure, the government continues to drive sustainable development, attract investment, and position Lagos as a leading hub for commerce and innovation,” he said.
Property owners were reminded that payments can be made conveniently through various designated platforms, a smooth and hassle-free process for fulfilling this civic duty. (NAN)
