Governor Adeleke
Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, celebrates the 84th birthday of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
In a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rashid, Adeleke acknowledged this immense impact on humanity.
“As Bàbá Enoch marks his 84th birthday, we celebrate a life wholly committed to God, and to the service of humanity. Pastor Adeboye’s legacy is visible in the countless testimonies of transformed lives, and strengthened communities across the world,” the dancing Governor remarked.
Adeleke prayed that God will grant the respected cleric continued vitality, wisdom, and grace to sustain his ministry and remain a beacon of hope to generations yet unborn.
Also in a video shared by the governor’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Oni Lawrence, Adeleke was seen serenading the cleric during a courtesy visit.
It read, “Yesterday night, Governor Ademola Adeleke rejoices with Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye on the joyous occasion of his 84th birthday.”
“He celebrates a life devoted to faith, humility and service to humanity, a spiritual father whose teachings and prayers have shaped generations across Nigeria and beyond.”
Adeleke also described the cleric as a global icon of faith whose journey from a Mathematics lecturer at the University of Lagos to the helm of a global ministry serves as a beacon of hope for all.
Founded in 1952 by Pa Josiah Akindayomi, a man who could neither read nor write but supernaturally penned the name “Redeemed Christian Church of God,” the mission was initially a small fellowship at 9 Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta.
Pastor Adeboye joined in 1973, seeking a divine solution for a family challenge. His intellectual prowess as a scholar was quickly identified by the founder, and by 1981, following Pa Akindayomi’s passing, Adeboye took the mantle of General Overseer. (The Guardian)
