General CG Musa
The General Christopher Gwabin Musa Support Initiative has hailed “the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of the nation’s security agencies” as reflected in recent exploits by the country’s troops. It was reacting to the announcement by the Defence Headquarters of a series of decisive victories achieved by the Armed Forces of Nigeria in ongoing nationwide security operations throughout February 2026. The statistical summary, released by the Defence Media Operations, underscores a month of intense and successful military engagements against threats to national peace.
Reacting Monday via a statement signed by the Initiative’s Convener, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu, the group called the operational results “a testament to patriotic zeal and professional excellence.”
The released data for February 2026 presents a comprehensive breakdown of the military’s achievements:
Personnel Neutralized & Apprehended: 46 insurgents surrendered to troops, while 354 individuals linked to terrorism, criminal activities, and illegal mining were arrested.
Economic Sabotage Curbed: A total of 32 illegal refining sites were deactivated, significantly disrupting illicit networks.
Humanitarian Success: Troops successfully rescued 409 kidnapped hostages, reuniting them with their families.
Resource Recovery: Operations led to the recovery of 144,050 litres of stolen crude oil, 31,601 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), and N2,440,000 in cash.
The General Christopher Gwabin Musa Support Initiative, in its statement, emphasized that these remarkable results were achieved within a single month. The Initiative praised the strategic leadership and the relentless efforts of the troops on the frontlines, stating that such successes bolster national confidence and security.
Beyond celebrating the military’s triumphs, the statement carried a profound and urgent appeal to the citizenry. The Initiative passionately urged the general public to *sustain their support and continue to pray fervently for the success and safety of all security personnel.* It highlighted that national security is a shared responsibility, and the morale of the fighting forces is immensely boosted by the unwavering solidarity from the homes and communities they protect.
The statement further hyped the Initiative’s core commitment to fostering national unity and resilience. It argued that by standing united behind the Armed Forces and other security agencies, Nigerians can create an impregnable wall against forces of division and chaos. “Our support for our troops transcends region or ethnicity; it is a patriotic duty for every Nigerian who desires a peaceful and prosperous nation,” the statement read.
The Defence Headquarters’ report, coupled with the advocacy from the General Christopher Gwabin Musa Support Initiative, paints a picture of a nation on a resolute path to securing its territory and people. The call remains clear: continued public support, prayers, and national unity are indispensable pillars for sustaining this momentum toward lasting peace and security.
