FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed
By IBIRONKE ARIYO
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has launched sweeping internal reforms to strengthen institutional discipline nationwide.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Mohammed said the initiative would deepen professionalism and reinforce respect and service excellence across Commands.
He directed the immediate deployment of the Corps Management Team to Field Commands nationwide for structured retreats and reorientation programmes.
He said the engagement would recalibrate operational standards, boost productivity and decisively address incivility and unprofessional conduct towards the public.
The Corps Marshal declared that the organisation would not tolerate behaviour undermining public trust or compromising its statutory mandate.
“The nationwide engagement will focus on strengthening ethical compliance, improving supervisory accountability, standardising enforcement protocols and embedding a citizen-centred approach in operations.
“Commanding Officers have been directed to institutionalise renewed performance benchmarks and ensure strict adherence to the Corps’ code of conduct at all levels.
“In addition, the Management Team will interface directly with stakeholders and members of the public to obtain constructive feedback on service delivery and operational conduct.
“This strategic engagement demonstrates the Corps Marshal’s commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
“Personnel found culpable of misconduct, abuse of authority or actions capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute will face firm and immediate disciplinary action,” he said.
Mohammed reiterated that the FRSC remained resolute in delivering professional, humane and efficient road safety services to Nigerians.
He described the reform initiative as a decisive step toward consolidating discipline within the ranks and strengthening public confidence in the Corps. (NAN)
