The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with the death of a 38-year-old-man accused of allegedly raping a lady.
The lifeless body of Samuel Ofiri was dumped by the road side along Kakatar Road in Otuoke Ogbia Local Government Area.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Iyamah Daniel Edebor, said five suspects have been arrested.
He said, “On February 22, 2026, around 3.30pm, police operatives from Kolo Divisional Headquarters responded to a distress call and found a lifeless male body on Kakatar Road, Otuoke. The body was taken to Federal Medical Centre, Otuoke.
“Five suspects, who were arrested in connection with the death are; Stanley Inemugha, 21, from Otakeme Community; Ipagaro Memidin, 21, from Otakeme Communit;, Kingsley Taribo, 25, from Otakeme Community; Boye Easter, 22, from Otakeme Community; and Preye Timbiri, 40, from Otuoke Community.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the victim was accused of raping a lady, taken to an apartment and tortured, leading to his death. The suspects are undergoing investigation and will face charges.”
