Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has accused Afrobeats star Wizkid of stealing his nickname.

Kuti made the claim during a recent livestream after a Wizkid fan urged him to change his nickname, “Big Bird,” because Wizkid is also known as “Biggest Bird.”

Responding, Kuti told the fan to instead advise Wizkid to be original, insisting that he had used the nickname long before the Afrobeats singer.

“Wizkid stole my name. Tell your fave to be original. Why are you telling me to change my name? Sorry, I can’t change it.

“This name has been here since. I am the first to come up with it. I am not dragging it with anybody, please,” he said. (TRIBUNE)
