First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced that the Oluremi @65 Education Fund raised a total of ₦25.52 billion to support the construction of the National Library, describing the outcome as a reflection of Nigerians’ shared commitment to education and national development.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Mrs. Tinubu expressed appreciation to Nigerians, family members, friends, and well-wishers who contributed to the fund, which was launched to commemorate her 65th birthday on September 21, 2025.
“Your support affirms our shared commitment to education, preservation of knowledge and national development,” the First Lady said, adding that she was deeply encouraged by the goodwill and unity the initiative inspired across the country.
She disclosed that as of Wednesday, a total sum of ₦25,520,708,074.35 had been donated to the Oluremi @65 Education Fund, describing the contributions as a major boost to efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s educational infrastructure.
Mrs. Tinubu further announced that the donation account for the fund would be shut down on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, noting that the project is under the supervision of the Minister of Education. She said any additional support for the initiative should henceforth be channelled through the Ministry of Education.
The First Lady thanked all contributors for supporting what she described as a worthy national cause and extended goodwill messages to Nigerians as the country prepares to enter the new year.
“I wish you and your families a peaceful and prosperous 2026,” she said.
