The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspected criminals and charged them to court for prosecution over allegations of criminal conspiracy, housebreaking and armed robbery.
The command disclosed that on December 4, 2025, a case involving criminal conspiracy, housebreaking and robbery was transferred from Tudun-Wada Division to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Minna, for discreet investigation.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the case: Abubalar Isah of Gurara, Minna, and Mohammed Yunusa of Gbeganu, Minna.
According to a crime bulletin issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, a copy of which was obtained by the Nigerian Tribune in Minna on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, information received revealed that on November 12, 2025, a victim from the Gurara area of Minna reported at the division that at about 2:30 a.m. on the same day, two suspected robbers armed with cutlasses broke into his residence and robbed him.
Items stolen include one Dell laptop, an iPhone 8, an iPhone SE, one power bank and a bag containing some of his personal belongings.
SP Abiodun noted that all the items were valued at over seven hundred and fifty-eight thousand naira (N758,000), after which the hoodlums escaped from the scene.
The statement added that during preliminary investigation, operatives of the division swung into action and, with the aid of technical intelligence, arrested the two suspects within the Gbeganu and Gurara areas of Minna. The stolen items were also recovered from them.
“The suspects allegedly confessed to the crime, and the victim identified them,” the statement said.
The police spokesman further stated that the two suspects have been charged to court for prosecution. (TRIBUNE)
