The Police Service Commission (PSC) is expected to release mass promotion of senior police officers before Friday this week, after its last Plenary of 2025.
Dependable sources at Force Headquarters (FHQ) Louis Edet House Abuja, and at PSC headquarters Abuja, hinted that the officers would be invited for formal written examination on Wednesday 17th December, 2025 in Abuja.
The SUPREME learnt that, those expected to be promoted are six Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the next rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), eight Deputy CPs to the next rank of CPs and 18 Assistant CPs to the next rank of DCPs. Similarly, unspecified Chief Superintendent of Police (CSPs) are slated for promotion to the next rank of ACPs, while over 30 SPs are also slated for promotion to the next rank of CSPs
We also learnt that among the new AIGs is Delta State Commissioner of Police (CP) Olufemi Abaniwonda, and Bayelsa State CP Francis Idu.
The new DCs include a Mobile Squadron Commander.
New spokesman of the PSC, Mr Torry Njoku Kalu, who is the Head, Protocol and Public Affairs, told The SUPREME on phone on Monday that he could not “confirm the number and ranks of the officers, until after the Plenary on Wednesday.” (The SUPREME)
