Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator Abaribe and Gov Otti
In a fitting climax to the suspense that has greeted its preparation for this year's edition of its annual awards (A Nite for NAIJA), Project Victory Call Nigeria (PVC NAIJA) has the pleasure to name the winners.
In what many observers have described as a refreshing return to merit-based civic recognition, A Nite 4 Naija 2025 is already generating national excitement with the conclusion of its college-patterned election held on Wednesday, 10th December 2025.
The balloting—conducted among a carefully selected electoral college of civic leaders, policy analysts, journalists, youth advocates, and respected public voices—has produced the final list of winners across all categories of the prestigious PVC-Naija Awards.
Top on the list of the citizens-driven awards are the Governors of Akwa Ibom, HE Gov. Eno Umo; his Abia State counterpart, HE Gov. Alex Otti; former Abia State Deputy Governor, Sen. Enyinaya Abaribe and Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
While Umo emerged as "the Governor of the Year," Alex Otti came tops as "Political Icon of the Year." And whereas Abaribe emerged as "Senator of the Year," Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan beat contenders to win the
"Iconic Political Voice of the People."
The names of the other award-winners are: Adamu Aliero, "Best FCT Senator since 1978);" Sen. Abdullaziz Yari,
"Chief Steward of the Nation;" Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, "Representative of the Year" and "the Conscience of the Nation," Bishop Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe C.M.F, the Bishop of Makurdi Diocese.
Others are: Hannatu Musawa, "Minister of the Year;" Hon. Gabriel Dewan, "State House of Assembly Speaker of the Year;" CG Kemi Nana Nandap, "Paramilitary/Agency Head of the Year;" Obadiah Mailafia, "National Political Icon of the Decade" and Hon. Aôndona Dajoh, "Legislator of the Year."
The rest are: Akinola Idowu, "Local Government Chairman of the Year;" Prof. Omojuwa, "Iconic Advocacy Voice of the Year;" as well as "Lifetime Honour (1. Elder Statesman, Living)" Gen. T.Y. Danjuma and (2. Elder Statesman, Post-Humous), Chief Cornelius Adebayo.
This year's edition of the PVC NAIJA awards is tagged: A Nite 4 Naija 2025, and holds at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, on 14th December, 2025, from 3pm.
PVC-Naija’s selection process has, over the years, distinguished itself for its patriotic rigor—rewarding leaders not for political proximity or media noise, but for measurable impact, institutional growth, and fidelity to public good.
With this year’s methodical balloting and transparent release of scores, A Nite 4 Naija 2025 is billed to reset expectations for what credible civic awards should look like in Nigeria.
For instance, Gov. Umo Eno emergence as "the Governor of the Year (SEA Index) reflects a national recognition of his governance model built on Security, Education and Agriculture (SEA).
As the conveners of A Nite 4 Naija, PVC-Naija, pledges to continue strengthening the culture of civic responsibility by spotlighting individuals and institutions that embody integrity, excellence and national renewal.
The 2025 edition, themed “Reawakening the Nigerian Spirit,” promises to be one of the most memorable, with the event being a
landmark celebration of character and competence; patriotism and nation-building.
This year’s biggest spotlight was on Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who convincingly trounced former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, with 7 votes to 3, to clinch the Political Iconic Voice of the People (2025) Award. Her victory underscores her growing national influence as a bold, articulate, and people-centered legislator whose interventions continue to shape public debate and policy direction.
In another tightly contested category, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe clinched the Senator of the Year (2025) Award with 6 votes, edging out Senator Francis Fadahunsi who garnered 4 votes. Abaribe’s consistent courage, legislative independence, and principled defense of democratic accountability continue to inspire public admiration across party and regional lines.
Meanwhile, as a worthy addendum, Apostle (Dr.) Wole Oladiyun emerged by consensus as "the Nation Builder of the Year (2025) in honour of his recent 10,000-medical-outreach initiative that provided life-saving surgeries for Nigerians.
As anticipation builds, A Nite 4 Naija 2025 promises to be a grand celebration of courage, excellence, character, and nation-building—anchored on this year’s inspiring theme: “Reawakening the Nigerian Spirit.”
