Today, which is the first Saturday in the month of December 2025, I want us to discuss the most powerful laws of life.
I want to start by congratulating you for making it to the last month of the year.
May be you don’t know, that you are able to make it to December is because you are obeying the laws of life.
The truth is that God or Satan don’t really punish or kill people.
What punishes or kills people is disobedience to the laws of life.
For instance, if one climbs five story building, jump down and die,
It is not God or Satan that killed him.
What killed him is the abuse or violation of the law of gravity.
So, created is not just the universe, but the laws that governs the universe.
Therefore, your success or failure depends on your obedience or disobedience to the laws that govern the universe.
One of the fruits of the obedience to the laws of life is success.
Success begins the moment you decide not to quit.
It is built on patience, hard work and faith.
Success does not come easy.
It is earned step by step.
It follows those who keep moving despite fear.
It is the reward of consistency and courage.
It starts with a dream and grows with determination.
All the things that I mentioned above as what lead to success are contained in the laws of life.
Let check them out –
Law of cause and effect: This law simply means that you reap what you sow. When you work for success, you reap success but when you do otherwise you reap failure. Just as Benjamin Franklin famously declared, by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail or an adage in the military which says
“Proper preparation and planning prevents poor performance. So, the law of cause and effect states that, you are the architect of your own life and that your life would be what you made it.
Law of belief: Success and failure starts from the mind. I have severally written about the force of the mind on this platform. The fact is, what you believe shapes your reality. For instance, before I started writing professionally, I told myself that I would not be in the business of writing for second place and when my book, Dangote’s Ten Commands on money was published, it became Nigeria’s number one finance book and rated among the best development books in the world by Wall Street Journal, the biggest and highest circulating newspaper in the United States. So, whatever we believe strongly and works on it becomes a reality.
Law of focus: When Bill Gates and Warren Buffet were asked the secret to their success, they mentioned just one word, ‘focus’. The reason is because whatever we focus our mind on grows, while whatever we put off our minds diminishes. So, if you can continually focus on your dream or on your goal and keep on reinforcing it in your mind, before you know it, it would materialize.
Law of gratitude: Gratitude is one of the secrets of success. It is the source of abundance. It improves our mental and physical well- being and also strengthens relationship. Gratitude increases happiness, reduces stress and depression. Gratitude is an energizer .It gives you the motivation to reach greater heights.
Law of Consistency: Aristotle said that whatever you do repeatedly you become. That simply means that small daily actions create big results. So, whatever you want to achieve or want to become, just turn it into a habit and do it consistently.
Law of giving and receiving: The commodity in today’s world is value. Put in another way, what we buy and sell is in today’s world is not products or services but value. What this means is that the more value you give, the more returns you receive. The richest men in the world today, did not set out to make money, rather they set out to give value. It is the value that they are giving that has made them what they are. So, if you want to be rich, give value. The more value you give, the richer you become. That you still struggling for money is because you are not giving value, give value to people and the struggle for money would be over. It is like Zig Ziggler’s famous words, “If you solve enough problem for enough people, you will make enough money for yourself.”
Law of patience: William Shakespeare wrote that the world is a stage and we all are actors. But for me, the world is a farm and we all are farmers. Everybody is a sower but it depends on what you are sowing. One of the characteristics of a farmer is patience. A farmer knows that he cannot sow and reap at the same time, so he cultivates the habit of waiting or if you like patience. Every good sower or farmer knows that great things take time and discipline. So, to succeed in life, you must imbibe the law of patience. You must know that there is nothing like overnight success. Good things take time, so you must learn to wait.
