One Oluchukwu Anyaoku has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly issuing violent threats and vowing to destroy all police formations in Obosi community, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

Anyaoku's arrest followed the circulation of a viral online video in which the suspect was seen allegedly making the threats.

According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Wednesday, police operatives attached to the Obosi Division acted immediately after intercepting the video on December 2, 2025.

He explained that the suspect was traced, arrested, and taken into custody for questioning.

While noting that operatives recovered a firearm and cutlass from the suspect, Ikenga added that preliminary observations suggest that the suspect may require professional medical evaluation.

He said: "Appropriate procedures are already being followed. Consequently, the case is being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for a comprehensive investigation and a review of all available information gathered so far."
