
Reverend Father Bobbo Paschal was kidnapped alongside others, and one person killed as gunmen attack Kaduna community.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna has announced the abduction of Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, the Parish Priest of St. Stephen Parish in Kushe Gugdu, following an attack on the community in the early hours of Monday. Several residents were also taken during the incident, which left one person dead.
According to Archdiocese, the attack occurred at the parish premises in the Kushe Gugdu area of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Rev. Fr. Paschal was taken from his residence, while other individuals were abducted, and the brother of Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero was killed during the raid.
The development was disclosed in an official circular signed by the Chancellor of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, and addressed to all priests, religious and lay members of the church.
“I write to inform you of the attack on Kushe Gugdu and the abduction of one of our priests, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, Parish Priest of St Stephen Parish, Kushe Gugdu, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, from his residence during the early hours of today, Monday, 17th of November, 2025,” the statement read.
Providing further details, he added:
“During the attack, many others were abducted, and the brother of Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero was killed.”
Calling for collective prayers, the Chancellor urged the faithful and the wider public to intercede for the victims.
“We call on all men and women of goodwill to join us in praying for their safety and quick release from the hands of their abductors, and for the peaceful repose of the dead. Amen.”
