ADC Delta stakeholders reject Ogboru

Chief Ogboru

Stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State have rejected Chief Great Ogboru’s involvement in the party.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by ADC Delta State Unveiling Committee Chairman Dr K. Ghandi and Arch. Sir. Julius Akpovoka, Secretary, ADC Delta State Unveiling Committee, after a crucial stakeholders’ meeting in Asaba.

The party leaders Insisted that Ogboru “has never been part of ADC in Delta and will not be going forward,” describing his recent political moves as an attempt to infiltrate a party he did not contribute to building.

According to the stakeholders, Ogboru’s renewed interest in the ADC follows what they describe as a decline in his political influence and a fallout with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

They allege that the wave of endorsements recently received by the governor from some prominent APC figures may have further isolated Ogboru politically.

Several members accused him of having “a long history of contesting for governor under different parties not to win, but to negotiate relevance and appointments.”

They argue that he lacks the grassroots support needed to contribute meaningfully to the ADC’s growth in Delta State.

The Delta chapter expressed strong displeasure with what it perceives as the national leadership’s quiet engagement with Ogboru.

They cautioned that recognising him could trigger an internal crisis.

According to the group, politics in Delta requires local support. (The Sun)
