South African Football Association (SAFA) President, Danny Jordan, has publicly pledged his support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff final against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday.

The gesture comes just days after both Nigeria and Jordan’s South Africa were locked in a tense, direct competition for a single World Cup ticket from their group.

Despite the recent rivalry, Jordan set aside any lingering competitive spirit to back the three-time African champions.

He lauded the Super Eagles, stating, “Nigeria is a big team, they have players who are among the best in the world, and I hope they will play true to their form and ability and get a good result.”
