NMDPA@40: Warri Field Office lists achievements

The Warri Field Office of the Nigerian Midstream and Downtown Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has made notable progress ranging from improving regulatory compliance among marketers to enforcing safety standards across depots, gas facilities and retail outlets.

Engr. Godwin Ikomi, the Delta State Coordinator of NMDPA made the disclosure on Thursday while celebrating the Fourth Anniversary of the Authority with the staff of the Warri Field Office.

Ikomi attributed the achievements to the dedication, loyalty and professionalism of the

staff.

He emphasised that the collective efforts of the staff would continue to reflect the Authority's vision of operational excellence.

Ikomi said that the Warri Field Office remains committed to ensuring safe operations, environmental sustainability, fair market practices, and continuous engagement with it's stakeholders.

"We have deepened our collaboration with security agencies, strengthened our community engagement, and ensured the consistent application of the law with fairness and integrity," he said.

The state coordinator said that the anniversary celebration symbolised progress, partnership, resilience, and a shared regulatory mission of the organisation.

He recalled that the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021, gave birth to the NMDPRA and other sister organisations.

The state coordinator noted that with the passage of the Act, the Authority had since moved from a period of transition and uncertainty to one of the structures, clarity, and institutional growth.

"The journey has not been without challenges, but together we have remained steadfast in our commitment to the ideals of the PIA," he said.

Ikomi commended the staff for their resilience in the face of the challenges and assured them of management's commitment to their welfare, training and provision of tools necessary for effective service delivery.

While appreciating the Head Office for the numerous supports for the Warri Field Office, Ikomi appealed for more working tools and resources to bolster productivity in his jurisdiction.

He urged the staff to remain focus, diligence and continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their services, emphasising that they are the face of the Authority in Delta.

Ikomi assured the staff that coming years would usher new opportunities and challenges, especially as the country embraces cleaner energy, enhanced gas utilisation and stronger regulatory frameworks for sustainability and growth.

He urged the staff to continue to give their best, support one another and uphold the principles that defined the NMDPRA.

"As we bask in the euphoria of this celebration, let us not forget that our greatest service to this organisation is diligent work and dedication to duty," he said.
