At least seven persons have died and 13 others sustained injuries following a head-on collision between two vehicles along the Kano?Katsina road near Cikakoshi village, Katsina State.

Zagazola gathered that the accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, involving a white J5 bus with registration number BTR 47 XY driven by Salisu Mohd, 40, of Tsagero village, transporting passengers and cattle, and a black Golf 3 wagon with registration number BCA 236 TY, driven by an unidentified person conveying passengers and goods.

The sources said the crash happened when the two vehicles, travelling from opposite directions, collided head-on at the same point.

Thirteen persons sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to General Hospital Rimi for medical attention. Seven of the injured were certified dead by a medical doctor, while the remaining victims were admitted for treatment.

The police confirmed that investigation into the accident had commenced. (Zagazola)
