The Ansar-UD-Deen Society, Abuja Branch, has mourned the passing of retired Gen. Abdullahi Adangba Muhammed, former Chief of Staff (CoS) to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The Society announced that a Salat al-Janazah (Islamic Funeral Prayer) will hold this afternoon by 1.30pm at its Mosque premises, located on Aguiyi-Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja
Ansar-UD-Deen, disclosed this in a statement issued by its Branch Secretary, Ismail Omipidan.
The Society, equally commiserates with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Nigerian Army, Kwara State Government, as well as the immediate family over the passage of one of the revered pillars of Ansar-ud-Deen Society in Abuja.
It described the late Mohammed as an embodiment of humanity whose entire life was spent to serve Allah and humanity.
The Society eulogised the virtues of the late Mohammed, including his military accolades and vast knowledge that culminated into his appointment as the CoS to Obasanjo at the advent of the current democratic dispensation, which kicked off in 1999.
It acknowledged the tremendous impacts of the late army General on Ansar-ud-Deen Society, Abuja in particular and Nigeria at large, emphasising that the members of the Society and Nigerians in general would forever remember his indelible imprints even in death.
While describing the late Mohammed as a devout Muslim and a patriot whose life was dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity, the Society urged the family to accept what happened as Allah’s will.
“The loss of a loving husband and father always brings unimaginable pain to the family and creates a huge gap difficult to fill.
“But we are sure that as a Muslim, you will find solace in the fact that Allah gives and He takes life.
“The worth of a man’s life is measured by the quality and quantum of diverse contributions he made to humanity. Our late father lived for Allah and humanity, leaving behind an indelible signature of accomplishments,” Omipidan in the statement added. (NAN)
