The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says the purported 2 kilometer airport in Argungu forest is AI generated as no such airport exists in Kebbi state.

The NDLEA Commander, Kebbi State Command,Rabiu A. Sokoto, said this while addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, on Wednesday.

He said the command has made its investigation on the airport issue and discovered there was no such forest, airport and names of people mentioned in the video that’s circulating on social media.

He said “We have directed our men to investigate the airport and the forest they claim it’s been used to transport cocaine in Argungu area of the state but we discovered there was nothing like that,”

He added that those behind it were only raising unnecessary alert to mislead people.

Earlier, the Ccomissioner of Information, Ahmed Yakubu Birnin Kebbi, described the video circulating on Tik Tok and other social media platforms as the handiwork of the opponent of the administration.

“It’s not only malicious, it’s reckless, petty and misleading to ever think such airport could exist in any part of Kebbi,” he saud.

He called on the public to disregard it as it was only meant to discredit the government. (Daily Trust)
