Two teenage boys drown during fishing expedition in Borno




Two teenage boys have drowned in the Konduga River while on a fishing expedition in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

Zagazola report that the incident occurred on Saturday at about 12 noon.

According to the sources , the victims Abba Modu, aged 15, of Mainari Ward, and Abdullahi Mala Hassan, aged 13, of Duwari Ward went fishing at the river but drowned in the process.

It added that the bodies were sighted floating in the river the following day at about 4:25 p.m.

Local divers recovered the corpses. The bodies were taken to the General Hospital, Konduga, where a medical doctor certified them dead with no marks of violence found.

The remains of the deceased were later released to their families for burial according to Islamic rites. (Zagazola, excluding headline)
