ICPC schedules criminal cases between 6, 10 October

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has released a list of criminal cases scheduled for hearing in various courts between October 6 and 10, 2025.

According to the Commission, the cases include FRN v. Mohammed Said Musa at the FCT High Court, Asokoro, set for report of settlement or withdrawal on 6 October; FRN v. Ibitoye Abayomi and Another at the Federal High Court, Uyo, listed for continuation of trial on 7 October; FRN v. Abdullahi Yakubu at the FCT High Court, Apo, scheduled for hearing on 9 October; Lovely Inyang v. ICPC and Three Others at the Federal High Court, Uyo, fixed for judgment on 9 October; and Mr. Paul Afagase Johnson v. ICPC and Four Others at the Federal High Court, Abuja, scheduled for mention on 10 October.

Other cases listed include FRN v. Thomas Kaya Maisani at the Kano State High Court on 9 October, FRN v. Jacob Daweh at the Kaduna State High Court on the same date, and FRN v. Dr. Abdullahi Danjuma at the Kebbi State High Court, Birnin Kebbi, also on 9 October.

The ICPC, established by the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000, is mandated to investigate and prosecute corruption-related cases and promote public awareness against graft. It is one of Nigeria’s principal anti-corruption bodies, working alongside the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Official records show the Commission receives hundreds of petitions annually, with dozens of prosecutions and a number of convictions.

In one year, it reviewed 851 petitions, filed 72 cases in court and secured 16 convictions. (The Guardian)
