“Nini: A Tale of Betrayal and Triumph”, star-studded Nollywood blockbuster has premiered in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that industry stakeholders, including filmmakers, actors, cast and crew of the film, were present at the premiere on Sunday night at Silverbird Cinema, Jabi Lake Mall.
It was a night of glitz and glamour as celebrities and fans of Nollywood lit-up the red carpet to celebrate the much anticipated film described as a mix of action, intrigue, and emotion.
The movie is a production of Fedmas Studios, directed and produced by Sam Idiagbonya,ace Nollywood filmmaker.
It brought together an impressive cast, including Nollywood veterans Jide Kosoko, Keppy Ekpenyong, and Francis Duru, alongside lead actress Maria Ogwuashi, who played Nini.
Other cast included Antar Laniyan, Yemi Blaq, Tina Mba, Chimezie Imo, Damilola Ogunsi, Chinyere Wilfred, Mariah Ugbashi, Tony Goodman, Sydney Diala, Patricia Charles, and Maryann Apollo, among others.
Shot across scenic locations in Abuja and Nasarawa , the two-hour movie explored themes of love, betrayal, and resilience.
The story of “Nini” followed a young woman whose life was punctuated by betrayal and challenges, leading her on a path of unexpected lessons and ultimate triumph.
The film’s plot revolved around an unforeseen event that interrupted Nini’s happiness, leading to conflicts with her mother’s beliefs and a scheme that resulted in unforeseen consequences and, ultimately, her triumph.
The film producer, Sam Idiagbonya, told NAN on the red carpet that Nini’s story is deeply rooted in everyday realties in African society.
According to Idiagbonya, widely known for his realistic storytelling, the movie will be released in cinemas across Nigeria on Oct 3.
NAN reports that the premiere attracted notable personalities, including Boss Mustapha, former secretary to the government of the federation and Pastor Sam Oye of the The Transforming Church Worldwide, among others.(NAN)
