How to create a wealth building mindset

Today, I want to discuss how to create a wealth building mindset.

The truth is that wealth starts in the mind and poverty also starts in the mind.

A lot of people think and say what make them rich.

And a lot of people also think and say what make them poor.

The main character in a popular soap in the 80’s, Bassey and Company, Mr B is reputed with the saying

“If you want to be a millionaire, think like a millionaire.”

That is a reality

In one of my topics on this platform,I wrote that science has proved that the cells in our body listen to our mind and acts accordingly.

Even the Bible says that as a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

So, if we develop a wealth building mindset, there is no limit to what we can attain.

However, we have to start small, because everything that is big in the world started small.

Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, all started small.

That is why we talk about good, better and best.

So, the idea is to first of all start by being good.

And then try to make your good, better and your better best.

Creating a wealth building mindset requires a combination of knowledge, self- awareness and intentional habits.

Some of the key strategies to help you cultivate a wealth building mindset are

(1) Financial education – Learn about personal finance investing and wealth building strategies. You can read books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham or Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. You can also read Dangote’s Ten Commandments on Money (Lessons on how to make money by one of the world’s richest men), by my humble self.

(2) Set Clear Goals – Define what wealth means to you and set up specific measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART)goals. Break down your long term goals into smaller, manageable steps.

The truth is that you cannot achieve what you cannot measure.

That is the reason for breaking down goals, so that you will be able to measure your progress.

Another reason why breaking down goals is important is because it helps to put you on your toes and stop you from being lackadaisical in achieving your goals.

(3) Positive Mindset – Cultivate a positive mindset by focusing on abundance, gratitude and possibility. Practice affirmations, visualization, meditation to rewire your brain to success.

(4) Risk Tolerance – Develop a healthy relationship with risk. Understand that calculated risks can lead to rewards ,but also prioritize risk management and diversification.

(5) Long term perspective – Adopt a long term perspective, focusing on wealth creation over time rather than quick fixes or get rich quick schemes

(6) Self Discipline – Develop self-discipline by creating healthy habits such as regular savings, investing and budgeting.

(7) Network Community – Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who share your wealth building goals. Attend seminars, workshops and online communities to learn from others and stay motivated

(8) Avoid limiting beliefs – Identify and challenge limiting beliefs that may hold you back from achieving your wealth building goals. Replace negative self-talk with empowering affirmations.

(9) Gratitude and abundance – Practice gratitude by focusing on the abundance in your life. Recognize that wealth is not just about money, but also about relationships, health and personal growth

(10) Continuous learning – Stay curious and committed to continuous learning. Stay up to date with market trends ,economic changes ,and new investment opportunities.

By incorporating these strategies into your daily life, you will be well on your way to cultivating a wealth building mindset that will serve you for years to come.
