Four feared dead in boat mishap in Plateau

Four persons have been feared dead after a canoe capsized in Fajul River, Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau.

Sources quoted by Zagazola Makama said the accident occurred on Sept. 10 at about 4 p.m. when a canoe being paddled by one Nankpak Danladi, 35, was conveying four passengers en route Wase.

“The canoe capsized, and all four passengers, whose identities are yet to be known, drowned in the river.

“On receipt of the report, security forces from Langtang South, mobilised local divers to the scene for a thorough search. No corpse has been recovered yet, but the search is still ongoing,” said the sources.
