GWR: Nigeria’s Peter Adeleke breaks longest leadership lesson record

Latest GWR holder, Peter Adeleke

The Guinness World Records has confirmed that Nigerian author and leadership coach, Peter Adeleke, has broken its longest leadership lesson record with a lesson delivered over 28 hours.

The record-setting session, held at 451 Northmount Drive, Calgary NW (Northmount Baptist Church), Canada began at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, and concluded at 2:48 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

Adeleke delivered the lecture for 28 hours, 45 minutes, and 0 seconds and surpassed the previous record of 24 hours.

Following the submission of evidence, the Guinness World Records team confirmed Adeleke’s success in an official email, saying: “We are thrilled to inform you that your application for the Longest Leadership Lesson has been successful, and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder!”

In a post on its website, the GWR team stated that Peter “hopes to raise the bar in leadership development and spark conversation around transformational leadership.”

Speaking on the feat, Adeleke in a brief interview with Nigerian Tribune, said “I feel very happy and fulfilled. This feat was an incredible mix of faith, gratitude, and humility. Going through 28 hours and 45 minutes of continuous leadership teaching pushed me to my limits, but crossing the finish line and knowing it set a new Guinness World Record filled me with a profound sense of accomplishment.

“It reinforced that, with focus, preparation, and determination, what seems impossible can become reality. It reminds me of one of my quotes, ‘True leaders turn abstract goals into concrete results.’ I believe in the power of visionary leadership, the ability to dream big, and build intentionally.”

While dedicating the feat to his parents for their support, Adeleke said he hopes the feat will inspire “aspiring leaders, young professionals, and anyone with a vision to dream bigger and push harder.”

“It’s a reminder that endurance, consistency, and a commitment to serving others can create impact far beyond what you might initially imagine. If you have a goal, no matter how ambitious, keep pushing. You never know what record you might break in your own life,” he added.

When asked why he completed the feat in 28 hours instead of the 48 hours he had set out to achieve in the attempt, he said: “Sometimes in leadership and in life, the outcome isn’t just about hitting the exact target you set but about pushing boundaries, learning your limits, and creating meaningful impact along the way. This record is proof that dedication, focus, and resilience can still lead to extraordinary results, even if the path shifts along the journey.”

The extraordinary feat, which drew a wide and diverse audience, including students, pastors, politicians, entrepreneurs, CEOs, music artists, professionals, and members of the Calgary Board of Educators, also attracted a virtual audience from Nigeria, Canada, the United States, India and Uganda.

The participants also said they gained practical and transformational insights on leadership that could be applied immediately in their personal and professional lives. (Nigerian Tribune)
