No fewer than 10,465 students of tertiary institutions have applied for the 2025 Sen. Sunday Karimi Education Foundation and Tinubu Support Group bursary award in Kogi.

Mr Tosin Busuyi, the foundation’s Central Committee Secretary, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja.

Busuyi said the scholarship programme is aimed at supporting students from the state, who are studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

He said the committee had commenced the sorting and screening of applicants to ensure a transparent selection of 3,000 successful beneficiaries.

The committee assured applicants that the process would be fair, transparent, and equitable.

“After this stage, the names of the successful applicants will be published in due course.

“All applicants are enjoined to follow the foundation Media Team for selection updates,” he said.

He emphasised the senator’s commitment to ensuring that all applicants were given equal opportunities throughout the process.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the foundation announced commencement of the bursary programme in July 2025, with a total of 3,000 students set to benefit.

The scholarship application registration lasted for one month from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31.

The breakdown of the beneficiaries includes, 1,390 students from Kogi West; 1,000 students from East; and 610 students from Central Senatorial District. (NAN)
