Senate President Godswill Akpabio
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated 11-year-old Miss Cara Victor Antai for winning Bronze at the 2025 Global TeenEagle Final 2 competition, held at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.
Akpabio, who received the young achiever in his country home at Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, described the feat as proof that Nigerian youths can excel globally if given proper support.
His Special Assistant (Media), Jackson Udom, in a statement quoted him to have said,
“I congratulate you, my daughter, on this great feat. It shows that Nigerians, when encouraged by relevant agencies, can achieve whatever they set their minds to. This award is also a call for more hard work,” Akpabio said. He also commended her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Antai, for nurturing her success.
The competition, which attracted over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, began with online rounds before culminating in the global final held from July 27 to August 3 at Surrey.
Nigeria was represented by eight students, five from NTIC Abuja and three from NTIC Yobe.
Cara competed in the TeenEagle 1 category, which tested reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. She clinched third place (Bronze) and also received a Special Award for “Best in Charisma.”
Akpabio urged relevant institutions to provide greater support for Nigerian youths, stressing that their talents could make the country proud on the global stage. (The Guardian)
