Dangerously-armed gunmen
Gunmen have abducted three motorists along the Okene–Kabba road in Okehi Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday night at about 10 p.m. when armed men blocked the road with firewood, forcing vehicles to stop.
Zagazola understand that one of the victims’ relatives, Salihu Abdulmumuni of Usugwe Estate, reported to the police that his father, Salihu Salaudeen, was among those abducted.
“Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer in Okehi mobilised patrol teams to the scene where three vehicles were found abandoned, including a Dyna 200 vehicle with registration number LKJ 389 GYE.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the three drivers of the vehicles, identified as Salihu Salaudeen of Usugwe, Shaibu Mohammed of Okene, and Ibrahim Muritala of Lagos, were kidnapped and taken into the bush.
“Three empty shells of live cartridges were recovered from the scene, while the vehicles were towed to the station for safekeeping,” sources said. Zagazola)
