Australian heavyweight Teremoana Teremoana sees himself getting the chance to fight Moses Itauma.
Itauma is 13-0 in his professional ventures so far, having beaten Dillian Whyte earlier this month to cement his status as one to watch.
When Itauma knocked Whyte out during the first two minutes of their bout, the 20-year-old added a ninth early round stoppage on to his record.
Plenty of heavyweights are keen to get in the ring with Itauma to try their luck at handing him his first defeat, including 27-year-old Teremoana.
While Teremoana acknowledges that the pair may not be facing off just yet, he explained to Australian Boxing Central how he sees their match-up playing out in the event that they do share the ring.
He said: “I think the chances of the fight happening are probably most definite. Just give it time. I think in the next two to three years we might get that fight. That’s just coming from me, obviously.
“What exciting times are coming for Moses. We’ve got this talent coming into the heavyweight division at this time.
"I feel like the older generation is fading away and the new generation is coming up and we’re looking to prove who is the best. We’ve got two talents in me and Moses and we’re going to see who is the best.”
Teremoana and Itauma both possess an admirable knockout streak, with the latter claiming 11 of his wins via stoppage.
The Australian, who represented his country at the 2024 summer Olympics, has won all eight of his professional fights by way of knockout.
Teremoana didn't claim a medal in Paris as he was beaten by his opponent Uzbek Bakhodir Jalolov during the quarter-finals of the competition.
While we may have to wait a while to see them go head-to-head, if they do fight it's guaranteed to be a huge showdown.
Itauma is currently linked to bouts fighters including Filip Hrgovic, Jermaine Franklin and even Oleksandr Usyk.
On the undercard of Itauma vs Whyte, Hrgovic claimed a unanimous decision win against David Adeleye and in doing so put himself up in the mix of potential contenders.
The Croatian's durability could prove challenging for Itauma, who has only gone the distance in two of his pro bouts.
While Usyk would be an incredible name for Itauma to face, his team are keen on him banking some more rounds before being in the opposite corner to the king of the heavyweight division.
Itauma's manager, Francis Warren, has confirmed that his fighter will be back in the ring this year.
He told Boxing News: "He will fight again in December, the world is his oyster." (Taiksport)
