The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has urged members of the State House of Assembly to rally behind Governor Usman Ododo’s administration.

Bello, who handed over to Ododo after completing his tenure in January 2024, made the appeal while addressing the group of lawmakers in a 29-second video circulating on social media.

In his address to the legislators, some of whom he asked to sit on the floor as he spoke, Bello urged them to work in unity with Speaker Aliyu Umar Yusuf and other members in supporting Ododo.

The former governor stressed the need for the lawmakers to back initiatives brought before the Assembly by Governor Ododo’s administration.

“Sit down. So, are you going in there now… Go and cooperate with the Speaker, other members of the House of Assembly of Kogi State, and be part of those that will support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in everything that comes to the Assembly,” he said.

After his remarks, the lawmakers responded with a round of applause for the ex-governor. (Daily Trust)
