Chief Bode George
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has said the party’s stakeholders will take a decisive position on the issues involving Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike.
In a chat with our correspondent, Chief George said the party had tolerated Wike and his group enough, adding that it is high time the party took a decisive action on his camp.
George was part of the stakeholders of the party who attended the Southern Zoning Consultative Meeting in Lagos.
Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Douye Diri of Bayelsa were in attendance.
Makinde who briefed newsmen after the meeting said the stakeholders had taken a decision on zoning.
However speaking with our correspondent, George reiterated that the decision of the Southern bloc on the zoning of offices would be communicated to the National Economic Council (NEC), which is meeting on Monday.
On Wike which has challenged the proposed convention of the party slated for Ibadan in November, George stated that the party would have taken a decision on his camp at the last NEC meeting.
He said, “The party will address the Wike issue this time around. At the previous NEC meeting, we considered taking a decision, but it was agreed that more time should be given to engage with the members of the House who had decamped.
“That time has now expired, and we must take a decisive step; otherwise, the party risks being seen as indecisive.” (Daily Trust, excluding headline)
