Group alleges job racketeering at Federal University Kwale

The Concerned Ndokwa Youths Nigeria (Worldwide) has expressed concern over allegations of job racketeering, nepotism and unethical employment practices at the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, Delta State.

The group claimed that employment opportunities meant for local professionals and youths were being hijacked by external interests through fraudulent recruitment practices.

The claims were contained in a statement signed by ?the Convener, CNY, Jerry Ogwu, Secretary, Hayfred Osele, and the Publicity Secretary/Media Coordinator, Kingsley Ekeh.

The statement said: ”We have it on good authority that certain key appointments and staff recruitments have been carried out without transparency, fairness, or adherence to due process excluding qualified indigenes of Ndokwa extraction who rightly deserve consideration.

”There are growing allegations that employment slots are being monetised and offered to those with political connections, while Ndokwa youths are left in the dark and unemployed.”

The group demanded a full-scale investigation by relevant government authorities into the recruitment process as well as immediate publication of all employment records to ensure transparency and accountability.

The group also demanded a clear employment quota policy that reflects the interest of the host communities and ensures fair opportunities for qualified Ndokwa sons and daughters and an end to all acts of marginalisation, favouritism, and ethnic bias in the administration and recruitment practices of the University.

The CNY also called on traditional rulers, political leaders, stakeholders, and all lovers of justice to rise and defend the future of the Ndokwa people.

They emphasise that the call was not just a call to war, but a call for justice, fairness, and equity. (The Nation)
