Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their spectacular victory in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Cup on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

In his goodwill message signed by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo hailed the Queens of the round leather game for displaying incredible resilience and an indomitable spirit, coming from behind in the second half of the match to defeat a formidable Moroccan side by 3:2 score in a thrilling final, thus bringing immense pride and joy to our nation.

The Governor said: "The Super Falcons’ triumph has been a result of the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of every player and the entire coaching staff. The unforgettable comeback win, their 10th WAFON title, also once again confirms the immense potential within Nigerian sports and serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across the country, particularly our young women.”

With Anambra State government being a strong advocate for sports development and gender equality, Governor Soludo is particularly delighted to see the Super Falcons continue to break barriers and achieve greatness on the international stage.

While noting that Falcons’ success is a reminder of what can be achieved with focus and perseverance, Soludo joined the Federal Government, the Nigeria Football Federation, and all Nigerians in celebrating the team’s remarkable achievement and looks forward to even greater successes from the Super Falcons in future competitions.
