Veteran Nigerian singer, Friday Igweh, popularly known as Baba Fryo, has said the failed marriage between music star, Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, and his ex-wife, Annie Idibia, was caused by their similar entertainment lifestyle.

The ‘Dem Go Dey Pose’ singer made this statement during his appearance on *The Honest Bunch podcast.

According to him, both 2Baba and Annie failed to manage their relationship properly because they were both deeply involved in the entertainment industry.

“2Face and his wife, two of them, I will say they didn’t manage themselves well. They are both entertainers. Annie is an actress, and 2Face is a musician,” he said.

Fryo said a woman in marriage is expected to help her husband stay grounded, especially when he is involved in unhealthy habits.

He added that when both partners share the same lifestyle, there may be no one to draw the line.

“When a man is drinking, the woman will be watching him, and if he is drinking too much, the woman will calm him. But if you marry a woman who also drinks, when you’re both drunk, who will take the other home?” he added.

He further claimed he had known 2Baba’s current partner, Natasha, since childhood.

“Even 2Face’s current lover, Natasha, is someone I have known. I once carried her on my lap when she was just three years old.”

In January, 2Baba announced on Instagram that he and Annie were no longer together. While he didn’t share many details, he described the separation as a difficult but important decision, noting that they had been apart for a while.

Since then, the singer has been spotted with Natasha at various events and private outings, following confirmation of their relationship.

2Baba and Annie tied the knot in 2012, and their union produced two daughters. (The Guardian)
