Among those present at the gathering are former Senate President, David Mark touted to be the protem chairman of the new coalition.
Others are, former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, former Governor of Sokoto Aminu Tambuwal, former Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, former Governor of Niger, Babangida Aliyu and ex Governor of Ebonyi Sam Egwu Ebonyi.
The gathering which has most of those attending as PDP members has gone into a closed-door meeting as at the time of filing this report.
The meeting, Daily Trust gathered, is aimed at fine-tuning strategies ahead of the unveiling of the much talked about coalition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Since he lost the 2023 general elections, Atiku has been in the vanguard of forming a broad based coalition that will tackle the APC.
Atiku has repeatedly said merger is the only way to remove the APC, which came into power via a similar move in 2015. (Daily Trust, excluding headline)
