FCT police deny alleged sealing of PDP secretariat in Abuja

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted reports alleging that its operatives sealed off the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat located in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

In a statement issued on Monday, the command described the news as “false, misleading, and not reflective of the true situation on ground.” It clarified that police officers were merely deployed to the area to maintain law and order and ensure public safety, in line with their constitutional responsibilities.

The clarification was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who emphasised that at no point did the police seal off the secretariat.

She further urged media outlets to verify information through the office of the Police Public Relations Officer before publishing reports, stressing the importance of factual and responsible journalism. (The Guardian)
